Materials:

  • Aon weight yarn
  • 3 mm hook for 0-3 months
  • 3.5 mm hook for 3-6 months
  • 4 mm hook for 6-12 months
  • Stitch marker

Abbreviations:

  • ch: chain
  • sc: single crochet
  • hdc: half double crochet
  • dc: double crochet
  • dcd: double crochet decrease
  • sl st: slip stitch

Instructions:

Round 1:

Chain 10.

  1. In the third chain from the hook, make 2 dc.
  2. dc in each of the next 6 ch.
  3. 6 dc in the last ch.
  4. Repeat steps 3 and 4 on the return row.
  5. 2 dc in the same st as the first 2 dc.
  6. You should have 22 sts.

Round 2:

  1. Ch 2 (does not count as a st).
  2. 2 dc in the first st.
  3. 2 dc in the next st.
  4. 5 hdc in the next 5 sts.
  5. 2 dc in each of the next 8 sts.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 on the return row.
  7. Sl st to join.
  8. You should have 34 sts.

For Round 3:

  1. dc in each st, working in the back loop only.
  2. Sl st to join.

Round 4:

  • Ch 1.
  • sc in the first st.
  • sc in the next 9 sts.
  • 8 dcd in the next 16 sts.
  • sc in the remaining 8 sts.
  • Sl st to join.
  • You should have 26 sts.

Round 5:

  • Ch 1.
  • sc in the first 10 sts.
  • 4 dcd.
  • sc in the remaining 8 sts.
  • Sl st to join.
  • You should have 24 sts.

  • Ch 1.
  • sc in the first 10 sts.
  • 2 dcd.
  • sc in the remaining 8 sts.
  • Sl st to join.
  • You should have 20 sts.

Round 7:

  • Ch 1.
  • sc in each st.
  • Sl st to join.

  • Ch 2.
  • dc in each st.
  • Fasten off and weave in ends.

Finishing:
