Easy Crochet Teresa Beanie Tutorial Windy Wardrobe

Materials:

  • Size J crochet hook
  • Worsted weight yarn
  • (Optional) Faux fur pompom

Pattern Instructions:

Starting Round:

  • Create a slip knot on your hook, chain 3.
  • Perform 10 double crochets in the third chain from the hook.

Joining & Starting Rounds:

  • Join the round with a slip stitch into the second chain.
  • Chain 2. This counts as the beginning of the next round.

Round 1:

  • In each stitch around, do 2 double crochets. You will have 20 double crochets by the end of this round.

Round 2:

  • 1 double crochet in the first stitch, 2 double crochets in the next stitch. Repeat from to around.
  • By the end of this round, you will have 30 double crochets.

After Round 3:

  • 1 double crochet in the first 2 stitches, then 2 double crochets in the next stitch. Repeat this pattern around.

For Round 4:

  • Follow the pattern of 1 double crochet in the next 3 stitches, then 2 double crochets in the following stitch, around.

Round 5:

  • Pattern becomes 1 double crochet in the next 4 stitches, then 2 double crochets in the following stitch. Repeat around.

Rounds 6 to 11:

  • Chain 2 at the beginning of each round. Perform 1 double crochet in each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch and chain 2 at the end of each round.

Creating the Ribbing:

  • Chain 2.
  • Alternate front post double crochet and back post double crochet around the beanie to create the ribbing.
  • Do this for 4 rounds to complete the ribbing section.

Finishing:

  • Fasten off yarn, weave in ends.
  • (Optional) Add a faux fur pompom or a handmade pompom at the top.
