General Information

  • This tutorial is aimed at intermediate crocheters.
  • The creator uses a 4.5mm hook and acrylic yarn.

Skirt

Ribbing

  • Measure your waist and hips.
  • Chain 13 with gray yarn.
  • Half double crochet (hdc) in the second chain from the hook and across (12 stitches).
  • Chain 1, turn, and hdc in the back loop only. Repeat until the ribbing reaches your waist measurement (slightly smaller for a tight fit).
  • Slip stitch the two sides together to close.

Purple Section

  • Mark the sides of the ribbing to indicate where increases will begin.
  • Attach purple yarn and hdc in each row of the ribbing.
  • Increase (2 hdc in one stitch) at each stitch marker.
  • Repeat increases every row until the skirt reaches your hip measurement.
  • Continue with regular hdc rows until the skirt reaches the desired length.

Circles

  • Create two circles (one slightly larger than the other) and sew them together, then sew them onto the skirt.

Panels

  • Measure from armpit to armpit, armpit depth, and shoulder to armpit.
  • Chain the length of your armpit to armpit measurement with purple yarn.
  • Hdc in each chain across. Repeat rows until the panel reaches from your armpit to the desired length.
  • Slip stitch across the number of stitches for your armpit depth.
  • Continue hdc rows, leaving the same number of stitches unworked at the end.
  • Hdc for a few rows to create the neckline.

Straps

  • Chain and hdc to create the desired strap width.
  • Continue hdc rows until the strap reaches your shoulder to armpit measurement.
  • Repeat for the other strap.

Assembly

  • Slip stitch the front and back panels together.

Trim

  • Add a gray single crochet trim to the bottom of the top.

Collar

  • Sew the combined circles onto the collar.

Arm Cuffs

  • Hdc in each chain (19 stitches), chain 1, turn.
  • Hdc in the back loop only until the cuff fits your wrist.
  • Create a triangle shape at the top by doing some stitches across and then decreasing on both sides until you reach a tip.
  • Attach a small circle to the top of the triangle.
