Materials:

  • 6 mm J Hook
  • Loops and Threads Everyday Cotton in Patriot Ombre
  • Loops and Threads Squeaky Clean
  • Red Heart Scrubby Sparkle Yarn in White
  • Note: The cotton yarn comes in balls that are 95 Y/2 oz. It's about enough to make three cloths per two balls.

Pattern:

Foundation Row:

  • Make a slip knot and chain 33 stitches with the Everyday Cotton yarn.

Row 1:

  • Double crochet into the fourth chain from the hook (the first three chains count as the first double crochet).
  • Continue double crocheting across for a total of 31 double crochets (including the chain 3 as the first double crochet).

Row 2:

  • Chain 2 (counts as the first double crochet here and throughout), turn.
  • Alternate front post double crochet and back post double crochet across the row until the final stitch.
  • Double crochet in the top of the turning chain from the previous row.

For Row 3-4:

  • Repeat Row 2.

Row 5:

  • With the Scrubby Sparkle Yarn, repeat Row 2.

Row 6:

  • Repeat Row 5.

For Row 7-14:

  • Switch back to the cotton yarn and repeat Row 2 for eight more rows.

Finishing:

  • Cut your yarn, leaving a tail to weave in.
  • Weave in all ends.
  • Measure your cloth - it should be approximately 9x8 inches.

Additional Tips:

  • These cloths make excellent gifts. Consider pairing them in sets and wrapping them with a simple ribbon or yarn for a beautiful presentation.
  • For any color changes or adding new yarn, perform the last yarn over of the last stitch with the new color to create a seamless transition.
  • Secure all ends by weaving them into your work with a needle to ensure durability.
