Crochet Christmas Puff Stitch & Popcorn Garland Pattern

Materials You Need:

Yarn (any cream yarn is suggested; chunky yarn with a 6mm recommended hook size)
Crochet Hook (7mm size, one size up from the yarn's recommended hook size)
Optional: Beads (wooden beads or any beads you like that complement your theme)
Optional: Smaller hook or needle for adding beads (depends on the hole size of your beads)

Popcorn Garland Crochet Pattern:

Start with a slip knot on your hook.

Chain 1.
Pull up a loop from the chain you just created, as tall as you'd like your popcorn sections to be (make sure to be consistent in height each time).
Yarn over, insert hook back into the chain 1 space, yarn over again, and pull up a loop (repeat this step a total of four times, each loop should be the same height).

Yarn over and pull through all loops on the hook.

Chain 1 to close off the puff stitch.

If not adding beads:

Chain 1 again.
Pull up a loop.
Start over at step 3 for your next puff stitch.

If adding beads:

At the end of the puff stitch (after step 6), pull up the loop a bit more and remove your hook.
Use a smaller hook or a needle to pull the loop through the bead.
Replace your crochet hook into the loop.
Chain 1 to secure the bead in place.
Chain 1 again, pull up your loop, and begin the next puff stitch starting from step 3.
Continue creating puff stitches, with or without beads, until you reach the desired length of your garland.
