Not only does it add a splash of nature-inspired charm, but it also keeps your wires from tangling. This is a great way to dive into crocheting, with a quick and adorable result that jazzes up your music experience. Plus, it makes a sweet, personalized gift for your music-loving friends!

Materials Needed:

  • 5 ply milk cotton yarn (color green suggested)
  • 3 mm crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Darning needle

Pattern Instructions:

Start with a Slip Knot:

  • Hold the tail of the yarn with your right hand.
  • With your left hand, use your index and middle finger to wrap the yarn, creating a loop.
  • Pull the tail through the loop with your right hand.
  • Adjust the slip knot to ensure it's tight but with a loop that's not too loose or tight.

Chain 10:

  • Yarn over and pull through the loop on your hook to create the first chain.
  • Continue to create a total of 10 chains.

Row 1 - Shaping the Leaf:

  • Slip Stitch: Insert hook into the second chain from hook, yarn over and pull through all loops on the hook.
  • Single Crochet (SC): Insert hook into the next chain, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through both loops on the hook.
  • Half Double Crochet (HDC): Yarn over, insert hook into the next chain, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through all three loops on the hook.
  • Double Crochet (DC): Yarn over, insert hook into the next chain, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through the first two loops, yarn over, pull through the remaining two loops.

  • Treble Crochet (TC): Yarn over twice, insert hook into the next chain, yarn over, pull up a loop (four loops on hook), yarn over, pull through first two loops, yarn over, pull through the next two loops, yarn over, pull through the remaining two loops.
  • Treble Crochet Increase: In the same stitch as the last treble crochet, perform another treble crochet to create an increase.

Row 2 - Completing the Leaf:

  • Mirror the stitches of Row 1 in reverse order to decrease the leaf's shape back to the starting point.
  • Continue with DC, HDC, SC, and finish with a slip stitch into the last chain.

Securing the Work:

  • Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail.
  • Use a darning needle to weave in the ends securely on the back side of the work.

Creating the Strap:

  • Create a loop using a slip knot.
  • Chain between 40 to 60 (adjust based on the headphone size).
  • Attach the chain in a loop around both ends of the leaf structure using slip stitches.
  • Weave in the ends of the straps to secure.

Finishing Touch:

After attaching the straps, fix the sprout onto your headphone band by wrapping the strap around it and securing it through the loop created by the strap.
