The Elegant Summer Crochet Tank Top is a light, airy warm weather piece that uses a simple block repeat with a centered V detail to create shape without complicated shaping math. You will crochet two identical panels, join them, then work the body in rounds for an easy fit that looks polished from every angle.
Crochet Tank Top

The pattern is beginner friendly if you are comfortable with double crochet and chain spaces, and it is also very adjustable: you can change the length by adding rounds, tweak the width by adding starting chains in the same repeat, and choose straps that feel delicate or more supportive by changing the number of rows. For a dressier look, you can add sequins to the front panel only, but the top is just as beautiful with clean edging and a soft drape.

Body worked in rounds
- Round 1

- Rounds 2 to 18

- Keep the underarm shaping by skipping the chain 2 in that underarm section each round
- Stop when you reach your preferred length, the original version uses 18 rounds total
- Bottom edge finishing round
- Work 1 round of single crochet around the hem

Straps
- Join yarn at the top point of the front panel
- Work a narrow strap in rows using 2 double crochet total per row
- Chain 3, then make 1 double crochet in the next stitch to form a 2 double crochet row
- Turn and repeat for 15 rows or until the strap reaches your desired length
- Sew the strap to the matching top point on the back panel
- Repeat for the second strap
Neckline and armhole border

- Work 1 round of single crochet around the neckline and both armholes to reinforce the edges and straps
Optional sequins
- Sew sequins randomly across the front panel only using thin thread and a needle
- Secure each sequin well with small knots on the inside so they stay put when washed
