Meet the Flower and Petal Crochet Summer Cup Top, a light and flattering piece built for warm weather. The fitted cups use single crochet in the back loop only for gentle structure and comfort, while the breezy lower section uses a brioche-style back-loop stitch that creates soft drape and petal movement.
Crochet Cup Top

The lace-up back makes it adjustable across sizes, and the flower edging adds a playful, romantic finish. Customize cup width, strap length, and skirt depth to suit your style, yarn, and fit preferences.

- Work cups first, add side panels, create top edge and strap, then join cups and build the skirt with petal motifs.
- Keep tension even; cotton relaxes with wear and washing.

Bra Cups (make 2)
- Make a slip knot and ch 13.
- Row 1: ch 1, sc across 13 ch, work 3 sc in last stitch to form the corner, continue along the underside of the foundation chain with 13 sc, ch 1, turn.
- Increase Row: sc blo to the corner, work 3 sc in the corner stitch, place marker in the middle of the 3 sc, sc blo to end, ch 1, turn.
- Repeat the Increase Row until the cup reaches the needed width and height; for a medium, aim for about 8 in across the base of the cup.
- Fasten off after the second cup only if preferred; you may continue directly into the side panel on one cup.
Side Panel on Each Cup
- Row 1: with cup positioned so the side edge faces up, ch 1 and work 14 sc blo evenly along the side edge, ch 1, turn.
- Row 2: 14 sc blo, ch 1, turn.
- Row 3: sc blo to last two sts, sc2tog in blo, ch 1, turn.
- Row 4: 13 sc blo, ch 1, turn.
- Row 5: sc2tog blo, then sc blo to end, ch 1, turn.
- Row 6: 12 sc blo, ch 1, turn.
- Continue alternating a decrease row with a straight row until 7 sts remain, ending with a straight row of 7 sc blo.

- In the center of the second cup corner, work 1 sc, ch 70 for the shoulder strap, ch 1, sc back into each ch to the cup edge to make a firm strap.
- Complete the corner with 2 more sc to finish the 3-sc corner shaping.
- Work down the second side panel edge with sc blo to the bottom and fasten off.
Connect Cups and Create Skirt Base
- With right side facing, join yarn at the base of the first cup and work 41 sc evenly along the bottom edge.
- Continue across the second cup base with 41 sc for a total of 82 sc, ch 1, turn.
- Rows 1–3 of skirt base: work brioche stitch in blo across 82 sts each row, ch 1, turn after each row.

- Row 20: work 32 sts across in brioche or sc blo to close the petal span; place a marker 10 sts from the start if you prefer a repeat reference, ch 1, turn.
- Repeat Rows 13–20 to build petals across the width; work a narrower final closing row if needed to fit the remaining stitches.
Back Edging and Lacing Loops
- Along one back edge, work 22 hdc evenly spaced from top to bottom.
- Ch 4, turn, work 3 hdc starting in the third stitch from hook, then repeat the sequence of ch 4, skip 3, work 3 hdc to create 5 chain-4 spaces for lacing, fasten off.
- Repeat the edging and loop setup on the opposite back edge to mirror the first side.

Lace and Flower Edging
- For the back tie, ch 200 and sc back along the chain to create a sturdy cord.
- Switch to the 3.5 mm hook and optional contrast color.
- Along the top edge and strap, work 3 sc, then make a small flower cluster by repeating ch 3 and sl st into the back leg of the last sc three times, then work 3 sc, and continue this sequence around the entire top edge and both straps.
- At the center where the cups meet, add a securing sc through both layers before continuing the flower sequence for a neat join.
Finishing
- Weave in all ends.
- Thread the long cord through the back loops to create the adjustable corset.
- Block lightly if desired to relax the brioche skirt and open the petal shapes.
