Crochet Christmas Mini Bell Ornament

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn, any color (you can use any weight yarn you have on hand, but the smaller the hook size the stiffer your bell will be)
  • Size G (4 mm) crochet hook (you can also use a 3.5 mm hook)
  • Stitch marker
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • Twine or ribbon (for hanging)

Abbreviations:

  • ch: chain
  • sc: single crochet
  • hdc: half double crochet
  • sl st: slip stitch

Pattern:

  • Magic circle

For Round 1:

ch 1, 10 sc into the magic circle. Pull on the magic circle end to close the gap completely.

Round 2:

  • ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), 2 sc in each sc around. Mark the first stitch of the round. You should have 20 sc in total.

For Rounds 3-9:

ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), 1 sc in each sc around. Mark the first stitch of the round. You should have 20 sc in total.

Round 10:

  • ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), 1 sc, 2 sc in the next sc, repeat around. Mark the first stitch of the round. You should have 30 sc in total.

Round 11:

2

ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), 1 hdc in each sc around. Mark the first stitch of the round. You should have 30 hdc in total.

Finish off:

sl st in the first hdc, cut the yarn, and weave in the ends.

Attach a hanging loop:

  • Cut a piece of twine or ribbon. Thread the yarn needle through the center of the bell, bring it back up through the center, and tie a knot to secure it. Cut off any excess yarn.
