Materials:

  • Fly Milk Cotton Yarn (or similar)
  • 4 ply Milk Cotton Yarn (or similar)
  • Crochet hook (size appropriate for your yarn)
  • Stitch markers
  • Darning needle
  • Scissors

Pattern Steps

Chest Part:

Foundation Chain:

  • Chain 21.

Row 1:

  • Single crochet in the second chain from the hook and in each chain across.

After Row 2-63:

  • Chain 2, turn, double crochet in each stitch across.

Row 64:

  • Chain 1, turn, single crochet 2 in each double crochet stitch from the previous row.

Ruffled Part:

Attaching:

  • Connect the ends of the chest part together.

Round 1:

  • Work in the front loops only. Single crochet in the first front loop, 2 single crochet in the second front loop (increase). Repeat around. Slip stitch to the first stitch.

Round 2:

  • Chain 2, double crochet in the next 2 stitches, 2 double crochet in the third stitch (increase). Repeat around. Slip stitch to the first stitch.

For Round 3:

  • Chain 2, double crochet in the next 3 stitches, 2 double crochet in the fourth stitch (increase). Repeat around. Slip stitch to the first stitch.

Round 4-7:

  • Chain 2, double crochet in each stitch around. Slip stitch to the first stitch. (You can add more rounds for a longer top.)

Back Part:

  • Attach yarn to the back of the chest part.

Edging:

  • Single crochet 2 in each double crochet stitch across. Single crochet in each stitch along the sides.

Straps:

Strap 2:

Sleeves (Optional):

Body:

  • Chain 1, half double crochet in the same stitch, chain 1, skip 1 stitch, half double crochet in the next stitch.
  • Repeat around. Slip stitch to the first stitch. Repeat this pattern for 10 rounds.

Decreasing:

  • Chain 1, single crochet in the first stitch, invisible decrease (single crochet through the front loops of the next 2 stitches).
  • Repeat around. Slip stitch to the first stitch.

Finishing:

Finishing Touches:

  • Add a decorative detail with a strand of yarn and a darning needle (optional).
