Perfect for beginners, the pattern includes clear instructions for shaping the heel, adding a snug ankle edge, and achieving a professional-looking finish. You can easily customize the color, yarn type, or size to create pairs for all ages — making it an ideal handmade gift or personal treat for your feet.

Materials

  • Hook: 2.0 mm
  • Yarn: 3-ply crochet yarn (or similar weight)

Stitches Used:

  • ch (Chain)
  • sl st (Slip Stitch)
  • DC (Double Crochet)
  • SC (Single Crochet)
  • sk (Skip)
  • Puff St (Yarn over, insert hook, pull up a loop 3 times in the same space, yarn over, pull through all loops)

Toe and Foot Base

  • Round 1: Make a magic ring. ch 3 (counts as DC).
  • Work 15 DC in the ring.
  • Join with sl st to the top of ch-3. (16 DC)
  • Round 2: ch 3. Work 2 DC in every stitch around.
  • Join with sl st. (31 DC)
  • Round 3: ch 3. Work 1 DC in each stitch around.
  • Join with sl st. (31 DC)

Crochet Slippers 1

  • Round 4: Repeat Round 3. (31 DC)

Front Design Section

  • Round 5: ch 3, work 9 DC (10 total).
  • ch 1, sk 1. 2 DC in next st. ch 2, sk 2.
  • In next st, (DC, ch 2, DC, ch 2, DC).
  • ch 2, sk 2. 2 DC in next st. ch 1, sk 1.
  • 10 DC to end. Join with sl st.
  • Round 6: ch 3, 9 DC (10 total).
  • ch 1. 2 DC over next 2 DC.
  • In first ch-2 space: (Puff St, ch 2) three times.
  • In next ch-2 space: (Puff St, ch 2) three times, ending with ch 2.
  • 2 DC over next 2 DC.
  • ch 1. 10 DC to end.
  • Join with sl st.
  • Repeat Rounds 5 and 6 three more times (total 4 Puff Stitch rounds).
  • Fasten off.

Heel and Side (Rows)

  • Join yarn before the 2 DC strip on the right side of the front opening.
  • Row 1: ch 3, work DC in each stitch across the back and heel area up to the opposite 2 DC strip.
  • ch 3, turn.
  • Rows 2–11: DC in each stitch across. ch 3, turn at end of each row.
  • Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly and Edging

  • Fold the bootie with wrong sides together.
  • Sew the 11 rows of the heel together using the yarn tail.
  • Shape the heel slightly rounded at the sole.
  • Turn right side out.
  • Attach yarn anywhere on the ankle opening.
  • ch 1, work SC evenly around the opening.
  • Join with sl st to first SC.
  • Fasten off.
