Materials

  • Yellow yarn (for flower center)
  • Pink yarn or any color of your choice (for petals)
  • Green yarn (for leaf and stem)
  • 4 mm crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Flower Center

  • Start with a magic ring, leaving a longer tail.
  • Work 28 half double crochets into the ring.
  • Join the ring into the first half double crochet.
  • Pull the tail to close the ring tightly.
  • Secure and finish off the yarn.

Flower Petals

  • Join your chosen color yarn into the first half double crochet where you joined before.

In the same stitch, work the following to create the first petal:

  • Single crochet
  • Half double crochet
  • Double crochet
  • Treble crochet
  • Pico stitch (chain three, slip stitch into the first chain)
  • Treble crochet
  • Double crochet
  • Half double crochet
  • Single crochet

  • Skip the next stitch, then slip stitch into the following stitch.
  • Repeat the petal pattern (skip stitch, slip stitch, skip stitch, make petal) until you have six petals in total.
  • After the sixth petal, skip one stitch, slip stitch into the next, skip one more stitch, and join into the first half double crochet where you began the petals.
  • Cut the yarn and finish off.
  • Weave in the ends on the back of the flower using a yarn needle.

Leaf and Stem

  • Make a slip knot.
  • Chain 10.

Work the first half of the leaf as follows:

  • Single crochet in the first chain.
  • Half double crochet in the next two chains.
  • Double crochet in the next four chains.
  • Half double crochet in the next chain.
  • Work three single crochets in the last chain.

Working back down the chain, complete the second half of the leaf:

  • Half double crochet in the next stitch.
  • Double crochet in the next four stitches.
  • Half double crochet in the next two stitches.
  • Single crochet in the first stitch where you began.
  • Join to the first single crochet to complete the leaf.

  • Chain 40 to create the stem.
  • Cut the yarn, leaving a longer tail for assembly.

Assembly
