Crochet Ribbed Cuffs &toppers
Materials:
- Any weight yarn (Make sure to use a hook that is two sizes larger than your yarn recommends for a stretchier finish)
- 5 mm hook (or size appropriate for your yarn)
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations:
- Ch: Chain
- Hdc: Half double crochet
- Fhdc: Front post half double crochet
- Bhdc: Back post half double crochet
- St: Stitch
- Sp: Space
Pattern:
Size:
- To determine your size, measure the circumference around the outside of your boot.
- Chain an odd number of chains that is approximately 1.5-2 inches shorter than your boot measurement.
- For example, if your boot is 15 inches, chain 57-59 chains.
Round 1:
Ch 59 (or your desired number of chains)
- Skip the first 2 chains
- Hdc in the next ch
- Hdc in each ch across
- Ch 1, turn
Round 2:
- Hdc in the first st
- Fhdc in the next st
- Hdc in the next st
- Repeat the last 2 sts across
- Ch 1, turn
For Round 3:
- Hdc in the first st
- Bhdc in the next st
- Hdc in the next st
- Repeat the last 2 sts across
- Ch 1, turn
- Repeat Rounds 2 and 3 until your cuff reaches your desired height (approximately 6 inches).
Finishing:
- Finish off your last row with a Fhdc.
- Ch 1, turn
- Fold your cuff in half, right sides together.
- With your tapestry needle and yarn, sew the two ends of the cuff together using a slip stitch.
- Weave in any loose ends.
