Starting the Base
- Use yarn and a 3.5 mm crochet hook.
- Make a slip knot.
- Chain 21 stitches.
- Skip the first chain and single crochet into the second chain from the hook.
- Continue single crocheting into each chain across the row until the end.
Building the Body
- Chain one and turn your work.
- Single crochet into each stitch across the row.
- Repeat this process, chaining one and turning at the end of each row, until you reach the desired height for your case. This will create a rectangular piece.

Decrease Row 1
- Chain one and turn your work.
- Single crochet decrease over the first two stitches.
- Single crochet in each stitch until the last two stitches.
- Single crochet decrease over the last two stitches.
Normal Row 1
- Chain one and turn your work.
- Single crochet in each stitch across the row (no increases or decreases).

Decrease Row 2
- Chain one and turn your work.
- Single crochet decrease over the first two stitches.
- Single crochet in each stitch until the last two stitches.
- Single crochet decrease over the last two stitches.
Normal Row 2
