Pattern Steps:

Round 1:

  • Insert the hook under the first strand and pull the yarn through the loop.
  • Twist the hook to secure and pull the working yarn (not the tail) through this loop.

Chain 3:

  • This counts as your first double crochet.

Pattern:

  • Follow two double crochets, one increase.
  • Continue the pattern around for a total of 48 stitches.

Round 5:

Chain 3:

  • Begin the round and count as a double crochet.

Pattern:

  • Follow three double crochets, one increase.
  • Continue the pattern until you complete the round for a total of 60 stitches.

  • Begins as one single crochet.

Single Crochets:

  • Make single crochets in each stitch around.
  • Use a stitch marker to mark the first stitch.
