Crochet Christmas Tree Ornament

Materials
- Yarn in three colors (tree + decorations)
- Crochet hook
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Create the Granny Square
- Round 1: Chain 5, slip stitch to form a ring.
- Chain 3 (counts as dc + ch-1). Into the ring: (dc, ch-1) × 11.
- Slip stitch.

- Round 2: Change color. (2 dc in space, ch-1) around.
- Slip stitch and fasten off.
- Round 3: Change color. (3 dc in space, ch-1) around.
- Slip stitch and fasten off.
- Round 4: (3 dc in space), corner: (1 dc, 2 tr, ch-2, 2 tr, 1 dc). (3 dc in next two spaces).
- Repeat corners.
- Slip stitch and fasten off.

- Round 5: (3 dc in 3 spaces), corner: (3 dc, ch-2, 3 dc). Repeat.
- Slip stitch, fasten off leaving 30–40 cm tail.
Assemble the Tree
- Fold square in half.
- Use tail to sew along edge through outer stitch loops.

- At corner chain-2 space, join loops together.
- Fold bottom and sew second loop to opposite loop.
- Continue until tree shape forms.

Add the Stem
- Attach yarn to bottom.
- Chain 2.
- Work 4 hdc.
- Chain 1.
- Weave in end.
Optional Decoration

- Stitch on beads, stars, ribbons, or miniature pompoms.
