Materials
- Yarn: Alpaca/Wool blend yarn (two strands held together)
- Hook: 5 mm (main sock) and 4 mm (cuff and ankle)
- Other: Stitch markers, yarn needle
1. The Starting Chain (Cuff and Leg)
- Chain 70 stitches.
- With 4 mm hook, work 6 slip stitches down from the second chain.
- Switch to 5 mm hook and continue slip stitches to the end of the chain.
- Count 17 stitches from the top, place a marker on the 18th stitch for the heel section.

2. Shaping the Heel (Decreasing)
- Chain 1, turn, and work slip stitch BLO up to the marker.
- Chain 1, turn, work 15 slip stitches BLO down.
- Add 2 slip stitches at the bottom.
- Turn, skip 2, work 13 slip stitches BLO up, chain 1, turn.
- Work 13 slip stitches BLO down, then add 2 slip stitches.
- Continue this pattern, leaving 2 unworked each time, until only 5 stitches remain at the top.
3. Closing the Heel (Increasing)
- Chain 1, turn, work 5 slip stitches BLO down, add 2 slip stitches.
- Turn, work 5 slip stitches BLO up.
- Reconnect steps by making 2 slip stitches through each “step” until reaching the top.

- Continue slip stitching BLO up to the end.
4. Shaping the Foot and Toe (Width)
- Chain 1, turn. With 4 mm hook, make 6 slip stitches BLO for the ankle.
- Switch to 5 mm hook, work slip stitches BLO, stopping 4 stitches before the end. Chain 1, turn.
- Work one long row up to the top.
- Alternate short rows and long rows, repeating until you have 20 braids/ridges.
5. Shaping the Toe (Second Heel Section)
- Count 33 stitches from the top and place a marker.
- Work slip stitches BLO up to the marker, then make 5 slip stitches BLO up, chain 1, turn.
- Work 5 slip stitches down, chain 1, turn.
- Increase by adding 2 slip stitches every “up” row until you reach 15 stitches.

6. Finishing and Seaming
- Fold the sock in half and align edges.
- Slip stitch through both sides, using front loop on one side and back loop on the other.
- Chain 1, cut yarn, and weave in ends.
- Cinch the toe closed by weaving through the tip and pulling tight.
- Turn the sock right side out.
