Materials

  • Thin cotton yarn (lace or sock weight, approx. 60–70g)
  • 2.5 mm crochet hook
  • Scissors and yarn needle

Size Adjustment

  • Narrow Foot: Chain 12 (15 total including first DC)
  • Medium Foot: Chain 16 (19 total including first DC)
  • Wide Foot: Chain 18 (21 total including first DC)

Toe Section

  • Row 1: DC in 4th ch from hook.
  • DC across, 4 DC in last stitch.
  • Work on other side, 4 DC in first stitch.
  • Join with SL ST in 3rd chain.
  • Row 2: Ch 3, 1 DC in same st.
  • DC to side, increase in 2nd and 3rd stitches of previous cluster.

Crochet Lace Socks 1

  • DC across, 2 DC in last st.
  • Join with SL ST.
  • Rows 3–6: Repeat Row 2, adding two increases on each side per row.
  • End with 48–60 total stitches.

Main Lace Pattern

  • Lace Row 1 (DC Cluster): Ch 3, 1 DC in same st.
  • Skip 3 sts, 3 DC in 4th st repeat to end.
  • 1 DC in last st.
  • Join with SL ST.

Lace Row 2 (SC & Chain): Ch 1, turn.

Crochet Lace Socks 2

  • SC between clusters, Ch 3, SC between next clusters repeat to end.
  • Join with SL ST.
  • Repeat Rows: Alternate Lace Row 1 and Lace Row 2 until desired foot length.
  • End on a DC Cluster Row.

Heel Opening

  • Bridge Chain: SL ST between DCs, then chain 18–23.
  • Skip same number of stitches on body, SL ST to join.
  • Lace Row Over Bridge: Ch 1, SC into same space, Ch 3, skip 1, SC next 2 repeat across bridge.
  • Join with SL ST.

Crochet Lace Socks 3

Sock Leg & Cuff

  • Leg: Continue alternating Lace Row 1 and Lace Row 2 to reach desired height.
  • Cuff Row 1 (Shells): In first arch, SC, Ch 3, SC. Ch 3, SC, Ch 3, SC in next arch repeat.
  • Join with SL ST.
  • Cuff Row 2 (SC & Chain): Ch 1, turn. SC in arch, Ch 3, SC next arch repeat.
  • Repeat 3 more rows (4 total).
  • Final Edging (Picot): SC in arch, Ch 5, SL ST in 3rd ch, Ch 2, SC in next arch repeat.
  • Join with SL ST.

Finishing the Heel

  • Heel Row 1 (DC): Attach yarn at middle of sole, Ch 3.
  • DC around opening.
  • Join with SL ST. Ch 3, turn.
  • Heel Decrease Rows: Make 2 DC2TOG decreases on each side per row (4 total).
  • Continue for 5 rows.
  • Finish: Cut yarn, turn inside out, slip stitch through both layers to close heel.
