  • Lock the flower by slip stitching into the first popcorn stitch, then slip stitch into the first gap.
  • Chain 1 and cut the yarn.

Quantity: Create 12 flowers, each with a different color.

Adding the Side Pattern (Square Motif)

  • Attaching Yarn: Attach a new color of yarn to any gap of the flower where you previously cut the yarn.

Round 1:

  • Chain 3 (counts as one double crochet).
  • Make 2 double crochets in the same gap to complete the first set of 3 double crochets.
  • In the next gap, make 3 triple crochets, chain 3, then 3 more triple crochets in the same gap to form a corner.
  • In the next gap, make 3 double crochets.

Continue alternating between a corner (3 triple crochets, chain 3, 3 triple crochets) and a side (3 double crochets) until you have 4 corners, forming a square shape.

  • Slip stitch into the third chain of the initial chain 3 to lock the round.

Round 2:

  • Chain 3 (counts as one double crochet).
  • Make one double crochet in each subsequent double crochet stitch until you reach a corner.
  • In the corneur gap, make 3 double crochets, chain 3, and then 3 more double crochets in the same gap.
  • Continue making one double crochet in each stitch and repeating the corner pattern until the end of the round.
  • Slip stitch into the third chain of the initial chain 3 to lock the round.

Rounds 3-5: Repeat the pattern of Round 2 for three more rounds, making a total of five rounds for the square motif.

  • Slip stitch to lock the final round, chain 1, and cut the yarn.
  • Create 12 square motifs in total.

Joining the Motifs

  • Arrangement: Arrange the 12 motifs into three rows of four motifs each.

Joining Two Motifs (Side-by-Side):

  • Place two motifs with their wrong sides facing each other.
  • Attach yarn to the corner hole of one motif.
  • Chain 1 and make a single crochet in the same corner hole.
  • Insert the hook into the next stitch of the first motif, then into the corresponding stitch of the second motif.
  • Make a single crochet to join them.
  • Continue making single crochets through both motifs, joining them stitch by stitch until you reach the next corner.
  • At the corner, make a single crochet and chain 1, then cut the yarn.

By Joining Rows:

  • Once you have three rows of four motifs, join these rows together.
  • Place two rows with their wrong sides facing each other.
  • Attach yarn to the corner hole.
  • Chain 1 and make a single crochet in the same corner hole.
  • Join the rows using single crochets, similar to how you joined individual motifs.
