Materials
- Cotton yarn
- Mohair yarn
- 3 mm crochet hook
- Stitches used: chain, double crochet, triple crochet
Front and Back Panels
- Measure from shoulder to shoulder and chain approximately 100 stitches or as needed for your width
- Work one row of double crochet across the entire chain using cotton yarn
- Attach mohair yarn, chain 4 or 5, then work a gappy triple crochet pattern of one triple crochet, chain 1, skip 1 stitch across

- Switch back to cotton yarn and work a row of double crochet by placing one stitch into the gap and one into the top of each triple crochet
- Work a gappy double crochet row using one double crochet, chain 1, skip 1 stitch across
- Continue alternating between cotton and mohair rows using solid or gappy stitches until the panel reaches your desired cropped shrug length
- Add width if needed by placing two stitches into one gap occasionally
- Repeat the same process to make a second identical panel

Assembly
- Place both panels together and slip stitch across the top edges to form the shoulders, leaving an opening in the center for the neck
- Slip stitch a small section at the bottom of each side seam, leaving large openings for the armholes

Sleeves
- Attach cotton yarn at the armpit and work double crochet stitches evenly around the armhole opening
- Continue working the sleeve in rounds, alternating cotton and mohair rows to match the body pattern
- Taper the sleeve by working approximately 10 decreases every second cotton row if desired
- Stop crocheting when the sleeve reaches the wrist since the fabric may stretch after washing

Finishing
- Weave in all loose yarn ends securely
- Turn the garment right side out so the seams are hidden inside
