Materials

  • Yarn in three colors: Color A (base), Color B (tulips), Color C (tulip tops)
  • Crochet hook suitable for your yarn weight
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle

Stitch Key

  • Ch = Chain
  • Sc = Single Crochet
  • Hdc = Half Double Crochet
  • Dc = Double Crochet
  • Dc5Tog = Double Crochet 5 Together (Popcorn Stitch)

Notes

  • Use a starting chain that is a multiple of 3, plus 2.
  • The pattern uses US crochet terms.

Crochet Tulip Headband 1

Headband Band Pattern (55 Stitches)

  • Foundation: With Color A, chain 56.
  • Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc across, turn (55 sts).
  • Rows 2–4: Ch 1, hdc in each st across, turn (55 sts).
  • Row 5 (Tulip Row): Switch to Color B.
  • Ch 2 (counts as 1st st).
  • (Dc 1, Ch 1, Dc 1) in next st, skip 2 sts, repeat to end.
  • Dc 1 in last st, turn (55 sts).
  • Row 6 (Tulip Row): Switch to Color C.
  • Ch 1, sc in 1st st, Dc5Tog in next Ch 1 space, Ch 2. Dc5Tog in next Ch 1 space, Ch 2, repeat to last st, sc in last st, turn (55 sts).

Crochet Tulip Headband 2

  • Row 7 (Base Rejoin): Switch to Color A.
  • Ch 1, work 2 hdc in first Ch 2 space.
  • Hdc 1 on top of Dc5Tog, Hdc 2 in next Ch 2 space, repeat across, turn (55 sts).
  • Rows 8–9: Ch 1, hdc across, turn (55 sts).
  • Row 10: Ch 1, sc across, cut yarn, and fasten off (55 sts).

Crochet Tulip Headband 3

Headband Ties

  • On one short end, attach Color A and chain 30.
  • Sl st to the first st of the headband edge, then sc across the short side.
  • Chain 30 again, cut yarn, and fasten off.

Crochet Tulip Headband 4

  • Repeat on the other side.
