  • Skin-colored yarn
  • Light and dark yellow yarn
  • Crochet hook
  • Stuffing
  • Stitch markers

  • Shirt buttons (2 small)

Creating the Snail Shell

  • Create a magic ring and crochet 6 SC into it. Close the ring and SS into the first stitch.
  • CH 1 and crochet 6 SC. At the end, switch to skin-colored yarn. SS to complete the row.
  • CH 1. Working in back loops only, crochet 2 SC in each stitch (12 total). SS to finish.
  • Cut pink yarn and one strand of skin-colored yarn.
  • CH 1. Crochet (1 SC, 1 increase) repeat 6 times (18 stitches). SS to finish.
  • CH 1. Crochet (1 SC, 1 increase, 1 SC) repeat 6 times (24 stitches). SS to finish.
  • CH 1. Crochet (3 SC, 1 increase) repeat 6 times (30 stitches). SS to finish.
  • CH 1. Crochet 1 SC in each stitch for two rounds. SS to finish last round.
  • CH 1 and cut the yarn, leaving a 25 cm tail.

Make two identical snail shell pieces.

For Creating the Base

  • Create a slip knot and chain 21.
  • Skip the 21st chain. Starting from the 20th, crochet 1 SC in each (20 SC).
  • CH 1, turn. Crochet 1 SC in each stitch for 11 more rows (12 rows total).

Creating the Bikini Top

  • Create a slip knot and chain 4.
  • Skip the 4th chain. Crochet 1 SC in each of the remaining 3 chains.

  • CH 1, turn. Crochet (1 SC, 1 increase, 1 SC, 1 increase, 1 SC).
  • CH 1, turn. Crochet (1 SC, 1 increase, 3 SC, 1 increase, 1 SC).
  • CH 1, turn. Crochet 1 SC in each stitch.
  • CH 1, turn. Crochet (1 SC, 1 increase, 5 SC, 1 increase, 1 SC).
  • CH 1, turn. Crochet 1 SC in each stitch.
  • CH 1, turn. Crochet (1 SC, 1 increase, 7 SC, 1 increase, 1 SC).
  • CH 1, turn. Crochet 1 SC in each stitch.
  • CH 1, turn. Crochet (1 SC, 1 increase, 9 SC, 1 increase, 1 SC).
  • Switch to dark yellow yarn. CH 1 and turn.
  • Crochet 1 SC into the first stitch and place a stitch marker.
  • Continue 1 SC across the top edge.
  • At corner, 1 SC then CH 10, SC in same stitch, CH 10 again.

Continue SC along the side edge.

Crochet Bikini Keychain 3

  • At the bottom corner: 2 SC in one stitch, 1 SC, 2 SC in one stitch.
  • Continue SC along the other side.
  • SC into the marked stitch, remove marker, SS to join.
  • Cut and weave in yarn.
  • Make a second bikini piece to mirror the first.

Assembling the Keychain

  • Place both bikini pieces onto the base. Use glue to secure lightly, leaving room to stuff. Let dry.
  • Using the tail, sew bikini pieces to the base through the snail shell and bikini stitches.
  • Stuff lightly as you sew.

Crochet Bikini Keychain 4

  • From the bottom edge of the top, find the 5th SC. Insert hook through it and through the bikini cup’s stitch.
  • Pull up yellow yarn, CH 1, and SC into same stitch.
  • SC across the edge, connecting top and bottom pieces. Repeat for second cup.

Edging the Keychain

  • SC around the entire edge, connecting all layers.
  • At each corner, crochet 2 SC into one stitch.
  • At the top center, insert hook through keyring if using, CH 1, continue SC around.
  • Leave 4 stitches unworked. SS to finish.
  • CH 1 and cut yarn.

Adding Buttons

  • Sew two small shirt buttons onto the back of the keychain.
