How To Crochet A Wreath Tutorial

Get your crochet hooks ready for a delightful project that will surely add a personal touch to your decor! Our tutorial on how to crochet a wreath is the perfect way to spend an afternoon, providing simple instructions that guide you through each loop and stitch.

Crochet Wreath Tutorial

Materials:

  • Dollar Tree foam wreath
  • Paint that is very similar to your yarn color
  • RI ribbon yarn
  • Size 10 crochet hook
  • Hot glue gun
  • Flowers

Abbreviations:

  • ch: chain
  • sl st: slip stitch
  • sc: single crochet

Instructions:

  • Paint the Dollar Tree foam wreath with a paint that is very similar to your yarn color. Make sure to paint both the front and back of the wreath.

Cut a piece of RI ribbon yarn and make a slip stitch around the wreath.

Chain stitch:

  • Insert your hook into the next loop on the wreath. Yarn over (YO), pull up a loop. YO, pull through both loops on your hook.
  • Repeat step 3 until the entire wreath is covered.

Single crochet:

  • Insert your hook into the next loop on the wreath. YO, pull up a loop. YO, pull through the first loop on your hook. YO, pull through the second loop on your hook.

Skip two stitches:

Skip the next two loops on the wreath.

Repeat steps 5 and 6:

  • Until you reach the end of the row.

Turn your work:

And repeat steps 5-7 until the entire wreath is covered.

Fasten off:

  • Cut your yarn, leaving a tail. Insert your hook into the last loop on the wreath. YO, pull up a loop. YO, pull through both loops on your hook. Cut the yarn, leaving a tail of about 6 inches. Pull the tail through the last loop on your hook and tighten.

Attach flowers:

Use a hot glue gun to attach flowers to the wreath.
