Materials
- Medium weight size 3 yarn approximately 100 percent acrylic
- 3.5 mm crochet hook
- Tape measure
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
- Stitch markers
Foundation and Bodice
- Measure your bust and subtract the width desired for the back opening to calculate the starting length
- Create a slip knot and chain until you reach the calculated length
- Half double crochet in the second chain from the hook and in every chain across
- Chain 1, turn, and half double crochet across each stitch
- Repeat rows until the bodice reaches your desired height minus approximately 2 inches for the bottom border

Back Edges and Eyelets
- Work single crochets evenly along one vertical side of the bodice
- Chain 2, turn, and work two rows of double crochet
- Chain 2, double crochet in the next stitch, chain 1, skip 1 stitch, double crochet in the next 2 stitches and repeat across
- Work one full row of single crochet for reinforcement
- Single crochet across the top edge of the bodice and repeat the same process on the opposite side

Decorative Bottom Border
- Chain 3, skip 2 stitches, single crochet in the next stitch and repeat across to create mesh loops
- Mark every fifth loop with stitch markers for shell placement
- Work 6 double crochets into each marked loop and chain 3 in the unmarked loops
- On the following rows, work double crochets over the shells with chain 1 spaces between stitches to expand the fan shape
- Finish with a row of single crochets and add a pico stitch on top of each double crochet stem

Straps and Sleeves
- Create two straps approximately 1 inch wide using four single crochets across and crochet to the desired length
- Attach straps from the front bodice to the back edges
- Join yarn at the underarm and single crochet evenly around the armhole and strap
