Materials Needed:

  • FF milk cotton yarn (color pink or any color of your choice)
  • 3 mm crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • A magnet (7 mm wide and 1 mm thick, very thin)

Pattern:

Starting with a Magic Ring:

  • Hold the yarn in your right hand.
  • With your left hand, point up two fingers.
  • Wrap the yarn around your two fingers twice, creating a cross on the palm side and parallel lines on the top of the fingers.
  • Insert the crochet hook under the first loop.
  • Grab the yarn that's closest to you, pulling it through this first loop.
  • Twist your hook 180° clockwise.
  • Grab the working yarn (held with your ring finger and pinkie) and pull it through the loop on your hook. This forms the magic ring.

Chaining and Double Crochets:

  • To secure the magic ring and start your pattern, chain 2.
  • Make 3 double crochets into the magic ring.
  • For each double crochet: Yarn over, insert the hook into the magic ring, yarn over again, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, and pull through the remaining 2 loops.

Half Double Crochets:

  • After the double crochets, make 3 half double crochets into the magic ring.
  • For each half-double crochet: Yarn over, insert the hook into the magic ring, yarn over, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over, and pull through all three loops on the hook.

Chain and Reverse Pattern:

  • Chain 1.
  • Reverse the pattern: Start with 3 half double crochets into the magic ring followed by 3 double crochets. This creates the symmetrical shape of the heart.

Close the Heart:

  • Chain 2.
  • Execute a slip stitch into the magic ring to close the heart.
  • Pull a long tail of yarn and cut. Use this tail to tighten and close the magic ring fully, which will shape your heart.
  • Trim any excess yarn from the tail to clean up your work.

Finishing Touches:

  • Apply some glue to the back of the heart and attach your thin magnet.
  • You can create another heart in a different color or the same color based on your preference.
