Materials Needed:

  • Milk Cotton 4 ply yarn (in five different colors, but you can choose any colors you want)
  • 4mm crochet hook
  • Scissors

Instructions:

For Round 1:

  • Start by making a slip knot.
  • Chain 5 and join with a slip stitch in the first chain to form a ring.
  • Chain 3 (this counts as one double crochet).
  • In the ring, make two double crochet stitches together, then chain 2.

  • Make the second group: two double crochet stitches together, and pull through, followed by chain 2.
  • Continue to create a total of six groups with chain 2 in between.
  • Finish the round with a chain 2 and slip stitch in the beginning stitch.
  • Tie a knot and cut the extra yarn.

Round 2:

  • Attach a new color with a slip knot.
  • Insert yarn in any chain space from the previous round.

  • Chain 3 (counts as one double crochet).
  • In the same chain space, make two more double crochets, chain 2, then three double crochets again (all in the same space).
  • Chain 2, then in the next chain space, repeat the pattern (three double crochets, chain 2, three double crochets).
  • Continue this pattern around. Finish with a chain 2 and slip stitch in the top of the beginning chain.

  • Tie a knot and cut the extra yarn.

Round 3:

Start by attaching a new yarn color with a slip knot in any chain space.

  • Chain 4 (counts as one treble crochet).
  • In the same space, make four treble crochets, chain 3, then in the next chain space, make five treble crochets.
  • Chain 3 between each set. Continue around.

  • Finish the round with a chain 3 and slip stitch in the top of the beginning chain.
  • Tie a knot and cut the extra yarn.

In Round 4:

  • Attach a new yarn color with a slip knot in any chain space.
  • Start with a corner: chain 4, then make two treble crochets in the same space, chain 2, and three more double crochets in the same space.
  • For the straight side, make three double crochets in the next chain space, continuing as established.
  • For the next corner: make three treble crochets, chain 2, and three more double crochets in the same space.

  • Continue the established pattern around. Finish with a slip stitch in the top of the beginning chain.

Round 5:

  • Attach a new yarn color with a slip knot in any corner chain space.
  • Chain 3 (counting as one double crochet), make two more double crochets in the same space, chain 1, and three more double crochets in the same space to form the first corner.
  • In each of the next three spaces, make three double crochets.
  • For the next corner: in the chain space, make three double crochets, chain 1, and three more double crochets.
  • Continue around, following the established pattern.
  • To finish, slip stitch in the top of the beginning chain stitch, tie a knot, and cut the extra yarn.
