  • You should have 18 sc at the end of this round.

For Round 4:

  • You should have 35 sc at the end of this round.

Creating Points (Pointy Parts):

  • Work in rows, not rounds for this part.
  • Repeat the following process 5 times to create a total of 5 pointy parts.

Point Rows:

Row 1:

  • 7 sc, chain 1, turn work

Row 2:

Connecting Points:

Row 8:

  • Work 5-6 sc down the side of the pointy part to reach the round base.
  • Repeat Rows 1 to 8 for the remaining pointy parts.

Second Star:

  • Create another star following the same pattern but do not cut off the yarn at the end.

Joining the Stars:

  • Place the wrong sides of the stars together, aligning the edges.
  • Crochet the stars together working through both layers to create a single crochet border.
  • Stop when two sides are left to crochet, and stuff your star. Then continue until fully joined.

Creating the Big Strap:

  • Work in rows of half-double crochet (hdc).
  • Chain 2, turn work, 5 hdc.
  • Chain 2, turn work, repeat rows until you've made 25 rows or your desired length.
  • Leave a long tail for sewing to the star.

Attaching the Straps:

  • Sew the big strap onto the pointy part of the star.
  • Secure with a knot and weave in the ends.

Chin Strap:

  • Locate the space between two star points.
  • Attach yarn with a slip stitch.
  • Chain 2, make 3 hdc.
  • Chain 2, turn work, and make 3 hdc for each row.
  • Repeat for 14 rows or until desired length.
  • Weave in the ends.

Finish:

  • Repeat all steps for the second earmuff if needed. Attach straps as directed.
