These crochet socks are designed to look like knitted ones, featuring the Bosnian Slip Stitch for a sleek, ribbed texture. The pattern includes a clever anatomical heel for a snug, comfortable fit and can be adjusted for different sizes.

Materials

  • Yarn: Light sport or heavy fingering weight, about 250m per 100g, wool and nylon blend
  • Hook: 4mm crochet hook
  • Tools: Contrasting waste yarn, tapestry needle, stitch markers
  • Gauge: 23 slip stitches over 10 cm

Foundation and Main Sole

  • Make 80 chains with waste yarn
  • Switch to main yarn, ch 1, work 80 sl st in BLO
  • Ch 1, turn, work 80 sl st for 4 rows

  • Row 6: Ch 1, turn, work 78 sl st, leave 2 unworked
  • Place marker in 40th stitch from opening

Anatomical Heel Part 1

  • Row 7: Ch 1, turn, work 38 sl st, then 2 more into main body
  • Row 8: Turn, skip 2, work 14 sl st
  • Row 9: Ch 1, turn, work 14 sl st, join with 2 sl st into main body
  • Repeat decreases by 2 sl st each decrease row until 2 remain, joining each return row with 2 sl st into body

Post Heel and Toe Shaping

  • Row 21: Ch 1, turn, work 28 sl st across heel and opening
  • Row 22: Ch 1, turn, work 62 sl st, leave 2 unworked
  • Row 23: Ch 1, turn, work 62 sl st
  • Rows 24–27: Decrease every other row by 2 sl st for 5 steps
  • Row 28: Ch 1, turn, work 66 sl st connecting toe steps
  • Row 29: Ch 1, turn, work 66 sl st

Foot Wedge Shaping

  • Rows 30–37: Decrease rows leaving 8 unworked, connect 2 unworked stitches every second row, ending with 64 sl st
  • Row 38: Ch 1, turn, work 66 sl st
  • Rows 39–48: Work 10 rows of 66 sl st
  • Rows 49–56: Decrease 2 stitches every other row until 58 sl st
  • Row 57: Ch 1, turn, connect toe steps, 66 sl st
  • Row 58: Ch 1, turn, 66 sl st
  • Rows 59–64: Increase 2 stitches every other row, ending with 62 sl st

Anatomical Heel Part 2

  • Place marker in 26th stitch from opening
  • Row 65: Work 26 sl st to marker, plus 2 more
  • Rows 66–79: Increase heel section by 2 every other row until 14 sl st
  • Row 80: Work 14 sl st heel, connect, then 40 sl st
  • Row 81: Work 38 sl st, then 14 across heel steps, then 26 more, total 78 sl st

Final Rows and Seaming

  • Row 82: Ch 1, turn, work 80 sl st
  • Rows 83–85: Work 80 sl st each
  • Row 86: Work 80 sl st, cut yarn leaving long tail
  • Seam side with invisible technique
  • Remove waste yarn foundation
  • Sew toe closed with whip stitch on wrong side and cinch
