Crochet Round Wallet & Floral Motif
Materials:
- Onitsuga polycherry thread
- 4/0 hook from Tulip
Pattern:
Magic Ring:
- Make a magic ring.
- Chain 1, then 6 single crochet (sc) into the ring with white thread.
- Pull a bit of the short end, switch colors to yellow by hooking into both loops of the last sc, pulling through the yellow thread, and continuing in the ring for a total of 9 sc.
- Pull the thread ends and join with a slip stitch into the starting sc.
First Row of Flower Petals:
- Switch to dark purple thread.
- Into the last part of the yellow loop, working only through the front loops, chain 3.
- In each of the next two front loops, make 3 triple crochets (tc) in one loop for a total of 9 tc.
- Chain 3 again, then slip stitch into the same hole to form one flower petal.
- Repeat the process two more times for a total of 3 flower petals.
Second Row of Flower Petals:
- Replace the thread with light purple.
- Start with a slip knot, chain 1.
- Go through the beginning three chains, make 1 sc.
- For the next stitches, follow with an increase pattern: 2 sc in one hole, then hdc increase twice, dc increase twice, finishing back down with hdc increase, 1 sc in the last, then chain 1.
- Repeat this for the next petal.
Making Separate Flower Petals and Leaves:
- Create a magic ring, chain 3, and make 9 tc. Then chain 3 and slip stitch in the magic ring, resembling the first row of flower petals.
- For leaves, make a slip knot and chain 9. Backtrack 8 chains with an hdc incomplete stitch, completing each stitch every two loops across.
Creating the Wallet Body:
- Start with a magic ring.
- For the base, follow the pattern of two sc and an sc increase, repeating around.
- Continue increasing in subsequent rows to expand the wallet body, switching to doubles and following the pattern for the desired circumference.
Finishing Touches:
- Hem the opening of the wallet with puff stitches for decorative edging.
- Create a lace edging in row 6 with a fan motif, alternating single crochet and 5 double crochets in one hole.
- Make a strap approximately 30 cm long and attach securely.
- Finally, sew in a zipper and a D ring for closure and hanging.
Assembly:
- Sew the separate flower petals and leaves onto the wallet body as desired for decoration.
