Materials
- 4 mm hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch marker (optional)
- Thin green yarn (double string)
- Small amount of pink yarn for cheeks
- Small amount of black yarn for embroidery
Abbreviations
- HDC: Half Double Crochet
- DC: Double Crochet
- SL ST: Slip Stitch
- SC: Single Crochet
Magic Ring and Half Double Crochets
- Start with a magic ring
- Chain 2 (does not count as a stitch)
- Make 10 HDC into the magic ring

- Mark your first stitch with a stitch marker
- Pull the magic circle tight
- SL ST into the first stitch to close the round
- You should have 10 stitches at the end of Round 1
Increase Round
- Chain 2 (does not count as a stitch)
- Work 2 HDC into each stitch around
- SL ST into the first stitch to close the round
- You should have 20 stitches at the end of Round 2

Half Double Crochet Pattern
- Chain 2 (does not count as a stitch)
- Work 1 HDC into the first stitch
- Work 2 HDC into the next stitch
- Repeat the pattern (1 HDC, then 2 HDC in the next stitch) all the way around
- SL ST into the first stitch to close the round

Creating the Ears and Finishing
- Do not chain 2 at the beginning of this round
