Materials Needed:

  • Yarn (355 yards of "I Love This Yarn" from Hobby Lobby)
  • 5 mm (H) crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors
  • Stitch markers (6-7, paper clips can be used)
  • Pink yarn for the nose
  • Black yarn for the eyes and mouth

Pattern Overview:

Starting the Base

  • Start with a magic ring.
  • Chain 1 to secure.
  • Work 7 single crochets (sc) into the ring.
  • Insert a stitch marker in the first sc for clarity.
  • Close the ring and slip stitch into the first sc.
  • Continue increasing each row until the base is about 5.5 inches across.

Body of the Bag

  • Once the base is complete, start working up the sides by crocheting in the back loops only to create texture.
  • Crochet rounds of sc until the bag is about 6.5 inches tall.

Creating the Ears

  • Locate the central top of the bag.
  • Mark and count stitches to evenly space out the ears.
  • Crochet two ears separately using increases at the bottom and decreases towards the top to shape the ears.

Adding Features

  • Sew on the eyes using black yarn.
  • Add a nose and mouth using pink yarn.
  • Use the pictures or video as a reference to position the features accurately.

Drawstring Closure

  • Crochet two long chains for drawstrings.
  • Weave through the stitches near the opening of the bag.
  • Knot the ends to secure.

Finishing Touches

  • Weave in all loose ends with a tapestry needle.
  • Optionally, add a lining inside the bag for added strength and usability.
