  • 5 ply cotton yarn
  • 2.5 mm crochet hook

Pattern:

Start:

  • Begin with a slip knot.
  • Make 27 chains.

Row 1:

  • Start from the third chain from the hook, make one double crochet into this chain.
  • Make one double crochet into each next chain until the end of the row.
  • In the last chain, make two double crochets.
  • Now, working on the other side of the chains, make one double crochet into each stitch across.

In Row 2:

  • Make a slip stitch into the first stitch to close off Row 1, then chain 2.
  • Make one double crochet in each stitch across until you have a total of 50 double crochets for the row.
  • Finish with a slip stitch into the first stitch.

Rows 3-9:

  • Repeat Row 2.

Row 10:

  • Chain 2, then turn your work.
  • Make one double crochet in each of the first 23 stitches.

For Row 11:

  1. Chain 2, then turn your work.

Rows 12-17:
