Materials:

  • Red yarn
  • 4 mm hook
  • Stitch marker
  • Scissors

Instructions:

Create the Body:

  • Make a slip knot and leave a long tail.
  • Chain 4.
  • Make a slip stitch in the first chain to form a ring.
  • Chain 2 and place a stitch marker on the second chain.
  • Make 11 half-double crochet stitches into the ring, counting the initial 2 chains as a stitch, for a total of 12 stitches.
  • Make a slip stitch where you placed the stitch marker to close the row.
  • Chain 3 and place a stitch marker on the third chain.
  • Make one double crochet in each stitch around, counting the initial 3 chains as a stitch, for a total of 12 stitches.
  • Make a slip stitch where you placed the stitch marker to close the row.
  • Pull the tail yarn to close the hole, and make a knot to secure it.

For Create the Head:

  • Chain 3.
  • Make a puff stitch by looping the yarn over the hook, inserting it into the space, pulling through twice, and repeating six times.
  • Yarn over and pull through all the loops on the hook, then chain 1.
  • Chain 3, then make a slip stitch in the same space to form the head.

Create the Legs:

  • Find the first double crochet and make a slip stitch.
  • The legs are made in alternating lengths:
  • Leg 1: Chain 9. Starting from the second chain from the hook, make 3 slip stitches, then 5 single crochet stitches. Make a slip stitch in the next stitch on the body.
  • Leg 2: Chain 10. Starting from the second chain from the hook, make 3 slip stitches, then 6 single crochet stitches. Make a slip stitch in the next stitch on the body.
  • Leg 3: Chain 11. Starting from the second chain from the hook, make 3 slip stitches, then 7 single crochet stitches. Make a slip stitch in the next stitch on the body.
  • Leg 4: Chain 11. Starting from the second chain from the hook, make 3 slip stitches, then 7 single crochet stitches. Make a slip stitch in the next stitch on the body.
  • Repeat the pattern on the other side of the spider with the same alternating chain counts (11, 11, 10, 9).
  • Make a slip stitch in the last stitch, chain 1, and cut the yarn.
  • Stretch the legs and hide the tail yarn.

  • White yarn
  • 4 mm hook
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue (optional)

Instructions:

 

Round 1:

  • Make a slip knot and leave a long tail.
  • Chain 4 and make a slip stitch in the first chain to form a ring.
  • Chain 2, then make 11 half-double crochet stitches into the ring, counting the initial chain as a stitch, for a total of 12 stitches.
  • Make a knot with the long tail to close the ring.
  • Make a slip stitch into the first chain to close the round.

Round 2:

  • Chain 5.
  • Make a double crochet in the next stitch, followed by 2 chains.
  • Repeat this pattern (1 double crochet, 2 chains) until the end of the round.
  • Count 4 chains from the top of the first chain 5 and make a slip stitch to close the round.

For Round 3:

  • Chain 8.
  • Make a triple crochet in the next stitch.
  • Chain 4.
  • Repeat this pattern (1 triple crochet, 4 chains) until the end of the round.
  • Count 5 chains from the top of the first chain 8 and make a slip stitch to close the round.

Round 4:

  • Chain 3.
  • In the first space, make 5 double crochet stitches.
  • Make a double crochet on top of the first triple crochet stitch from the previous round.
  • Chain 4, and make a slip stitch at the base of the chain to create a picot stitch.
  • In the next space, make 6 double crochet stitches.

Crochet Spider Web 4

  • Repeat the pattern (1 double crochet on the triple crochet, 1 picot stitch, and 6 double crochet stitches in the next space) around the entire web.
  • At the end of the round, make a slip stitch into the third chain of the initial chain 3.
  • Chain 1, cut the yarn, and hide the tail.
