Materials Needed:

  • Mint color yarn (Double Knitting Yarn, 100g, 330m, color code CE-027)
  • Second color (white) yarn (a small amount)
  • 4mm crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Stitch markers
  • Buttons (1cm to 5cm size based on preference)

Pattern Instructions:

Magic Ring and First Rows:

  • Start with a magic ring.
  • Chain 3 (count as first double crochet).
  • Make 2 double crochet into the magic ring.
  • Chain 2 for the first corner.
  • Repeat (3 double crochet, chain 2) 3 more times in the ring.
  • Close magic ring and slip stitch to the top of the initial chain 3.

Second Row:

  • Start with chain 4 (3 as first double crochet, 1 extra chain).
  • Skip 3 double crochet.

In each chain-2 space:

  • 3 double crochet, chain 2, 3 double crochet.
  • Close the row with a slip stitch.
  • Continue increasing each row in a similar fashion to form the square base. Adjust the number of rows according to the size you are making:

0-3 months:

  • 8 rows

3-6 months:

  • 9 rows

6-12 months:

  • 11 rows

1-2 years:

  • 12 rows

Shaping the Romper:

  • Create two identical pieces using the pattern above for the front and back of the romper.

  • Repeat for the second loop.
