Crochet Easy Scarf 1

The result is a soft, modern-looking scarf that feels as good as it looks. You can easily adjust the width and length to suit your style, and adding fringe gives it a polished finish. Whether you’re crocheting a cozy winter accessory or a handmade gift, this simple scarf makes a timeless piece.

Materials

  • Yarn: Alize Lanagold Max or any bulky/worsted weight yarn
  • Hook Size: 10 mm (use larger than recommended for softness)
  • Finished Length: 150–153 cm
  • Width: 15–20 cm (adjust as desired)

Foundation Row (Chains)

  • Chain 125–130 stitches to reach about 150–153 cm in length.

Crochet Easy Scarf 2

Row 1

  • Chain 2 (counts as first stitch).
  • Yarn over, insert hook into the back bump of the 4th chain from hook.
  • Yarn over, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook).
  • Yarn over, pull through all loops to make one Half Double Crochet (HDC).
  • Continue working HDC into the back bump of each chain across the row.

Crochet Easy Scarf 2

Row 2 and Beyond

  • Chain 1 and turn (does not count as a stitch).
  • Yarn over, insert hook into the back loop only of the first stitch.
  • Complete a HDC and continue working HDC into the back loop of every stitch across.

Crochet Easy Scarf 3

  • In the last stitch, work into the top of the turning chain to keep edges straight.
  • Repeat this row until the scarf reaches about 20 cm wide.

Finishing (Fringe/Tassels)

Crochet Easy Scarf 4

  • Cut yarn strands about 33–34 cm long.
  • Fold 2–3 strands in half and attach along the short edge of the scarf.
  • Insert the hook through a stitch, pull folded loop through, then pull ends through the loop and tighten.
  • Continue adding fringe evenly across the edge.
  • Trim fringe to about 15 cm for a neat finish.
