  • Sport/Light Worsted yarn (50g/125m, wool blend)
  • 5mm crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors
  • Contrasting scrap yarn for foundation chain

Foundation Chain

  • Switch to main color yarn.

Initial Ribbing (Rows 1–5)

  • Row 1: Ch 1, turn. Work 46 ss into the back bumps.
  • Rows 2–5: Ch 1, turn. Work 46 ss in BLO.

  • Row 14: Ch 1, turn. Work 36 ss, joining 2 unworked sts.
  • Row 15: Ch 1, turn. Work 36 ss.
  • Row 16: Ch 1, turn. Work 38 ss, joining last 2 unworked sts.

Second Heel Wedge (Gusset)

  • Row 32a: Ch 1, turn. Work 16 ss for cuff.
  • Row 32b–32h: Work gusset short rows increasing from 2 ss up to 8 ss with anchors.
  • Row 32i: Work 8 ss.
  • Row 32j: Work 20 ss across gusset section, ending 2 sts before toe.
  • Row 33: Work 20 ss to heel peak, 8 ss along heel side, and 16 ss for cuff (44 ss).
  • Row 34: Ch 1, turn. Work 46 ss across.
  • Row 35: Ch 1, turn. Work 46 ss.
  • Row 36: Ch 1, turn. Work 46 ss.

Finishing and Seaming

  • Leave a 30 cm yarn tail. Unravel Row 36 for seaming length.
  • Seam edge to foundation chain with tapestry needle using contrast yarn as guide.
  • Remove contrast yarn from chain.
  • Fold and sew toe opening closed.
  • Secure ends and weave in.
