Materials Needed:

  • Crochet hook
  • Yarn
  • Stitch marker
  • Scissors

Pattern Instructions:

Magic Ring:

  • Make a magic ring.
  • Chain 1 (place a stitch marker on this chain).

Row 1:

  • Work 7 single crochets into the magic ring.
  • Pull the tail to tighten the ring but not too tightly.
  • Slip stitch into the first chain to close the row (8 stitches total).
  • Tighten the ring completely by pulling the tail.

Row 2:

  • Chain 1.

Corner:

  • 1 single crochet into the next stitch, chain 2, and 1 more single crochet into the same stitch.
  • Repeat the pattern: Single crochet into each of the next stitches until you reach the beginning of the row.
  • Each corner will follow the sequence: 1 single crochet, chain 2, 1 single crochet into the same stitch.
  • End the row by pulling a loop through all the remaining loops on the hook.

Subsequent Rows (3 to 9):

  • Start each row: Chain 1 and use a marker.
  • Work in single crochet stitches, repeating the corner pattern at each corner.
  • End each row by pulling a loop through all the loops on the hook as done in previous rows.

Color Change (Optional):

  • To change colors: In the last stitch of the row, start a single crochet and stop with 2 loops on the hook.
  • Pull the new color through the loops to complete the stitch and continue with the new color.

Final Rows and Finishing:

  • Continue repeating the pattern if a larger bag is desired.
  • Finish by cutting the yarn and weaving in the ends.

Making the Handles:

  • Start with a slip knot and chain a length that suits the desired handle size.
  • Attach the chain to the bag with single crochets and continue until the handles reach the required length.
  • Secure the ends and weave in any loose threads.
