Materials Needed:

  • Crochet hook 4 mm and 2.5 mm (4 mm for the pot and decorations, 2.5 mm if needed for adjusting tightness of stitches)
  • Aran yarn (100% Cotton recommended)
  • Stitch marker
  • Two strands of cotton yarn to make the pot sturdier

Pot Pattern:

Crochet Llama Coasters & Pot 1

Magic Circle:

  • Start with a magic circle using a 4 mm hook and two strands of yarn.
  • Six single crochets (sc) in the magic circle (amigurumi style, do not close the round with a slip stitch, continue in spiral).

Round 2:

  • Increase in every stitch (two sc in each stitch) → 12 stitches.

Round 3:

  • One sc in the first stitch, two sc in the next repeat around → 18 stitches.

For Round 4:

  • One sc in the first two stitches, two sc in the third stitch repeat around → 24 stitches.

Round 5:

  • One sc in the first three stitches, two sc in the fourth stitch repeat around → 30 stitches.

Round 6:

  • Start working in the back loop only for all 30 stitches to begin shaping the sides of the pot.

From Round 8 to 11:

  • Work 36 single crochets in each round, one sc in each stitch. This forms the sides of the pot.

Decrease Round:

  • Make three single crochets and then one decrease (use the invisible decrease method for smoother finish).

For Round 2:

Rounds 4-7:
