Materials Needed:
- Yarn in various colors (dark for cone, red for cherry, white for cream, and another for the ice cream flavor)
- Crochet hook, size 3.5 mm
- Keychain ring
- Fabric glue
- Polyfill or scrap yarn for stuffing
- Yarn needle
Ice Cream Part:
Start with a magic circle.
- Chain 1, then single crochet (sc) 6 times into the circle. Pull the yarn to close the circle.
- Slip stitch into the first sc to join, then chain 1.
- Do 2 sc in the first stitch, and 2 sc in each stitch around (12 sc total).
- Slip stitch to join, chain 1. Sc in the first stitch, then 2 sc in the next. Follow this pattern (1 sc, then 2 sc in the next) until the end of the round.
- After completing the increases, do 4 rounds of sc in each stitch.
Next, do a decrease round:
- chain 1, use invisible decrease in the first two stitches, then sc in the next four stitches. Continue the pattern (4 sc, then a decrease) until you end the round.
- Slip stitch to join, cut the yarn, and pull through.
Cone Part:
- Attach cone color yarn with a slip knot on the hook, pull it through a stitch at the base of the ice cream, then chain 1.
- Sc around for 2 rounds.
Do a decrease round:
- decrease two stitches, then 3 sc.
- Alternate between a simple sc round and a decrease round, each time decreasing the number of sc between decreases until you can stuff with polyfill and close the cone.
Cream Part:
- With white yarn, make a magic circle.
- Chain 1, do 6 sc in the circle.
- Do increases every other stitch to create a ruffled edge.
- For the pointed cream drops, chain 7, skip 2, make 5 half double crochet back down the chain, attached with a slip stitch to the main part of the cream.
- Repeat for a total of 5 points.
- Sew or glue the cream to the top of the ice cream.
Cherry Part:
- With red yarn, start with a magic circle.
- Chain 1, make 6 sc in the circle. Close circle.
- Work another round of 6 sc without increasing.
- Attach the cherry to the top of the cream, adding the keychain ring inside the cherry as you sew.
Final Assembly:
- Glue all parts together if necessary.
- Weave in all ends.
- Allow the glue to dry before using.
