Crochet Diaper Cover

Materials Needed:
- 2 balls of cabotine yarns from phildar (50 grams each)
- Crochet hook size 3.5 mm
- Scissors
- Yarn needle (for weaving in ends)
Steps:

Starting Loop and Chain:
- Begin with a starting loop, place your hook, and chain 95 (or enough chains to fit the baby's waist size, better to overestimate slightly as the waist will be elastic).
Joining into a Circle:
- Make sure the chain does not twist, join to the first chain with a slip stitch to form a circle.

Foundation Row with Double Crochet (DC):
- Start with three chains (count as first DC).
- Place one DC in each stitch around the circle.
- Close the row by slip stitching into the third chain of the starting three chains.
Pattern with Front and Back Double Crochet:
- Start each row with three chain stitches.
- Alternate placing one DC at the front, then one at the back of the previous row's DC.
- Continue this for three rows to create an elastic pattern around the waist.

Increase Row with Treble Crochet (TC):
- Begin the row as normal with three chains.
- After every tenth TC, do an increase by placing two TC in the same stitch.
- Continue the pattern around the circle.
Back Loop Only Double Crochets (BLO DC):
- Start with three chains.
- Work BLO DC all the way around to create a ridged pattern.
- Create a total of 16 rows or adjust the number of rows based on the needed size.
Cut Yarn and Weave in Ends:
- Cut yarn, pull through the loop and tighten.
- Use a yarn needle to weave in the ends securely.

Crotch Tongue:
- Determine the width needed for the crotch by measuring the baby's thighs.
- Attach the yarn and create a tab made up of 13 stitches (or more if needed), alternating front and back strand stitches.
- Crochet back and forth for eight rows.
Attach Crotch Tongue to Back of Shorts:
- Attach the tongue at the back by making slip stitches to join it securely.
Edging:
- Attach the yarn and work an edging of single crochet all the way around for a clean finish.
- Secure and weave in all ends.
Waist Tie:
- Chain 150 to 200 stitches (or double the number of starting chains).
- Return along the chain with slip stitches to create a tie.
- Attach the tie by weaving it in and out of the front loop of the stitches at the waist. Secure with a bow.

Finished Product:
- Tighten the drawstrings at the waist and tie a bow for a custom fit.
- The diaper cover should now be complete and ready for baby to wear!
