Crochet Slippers
Materials Needed:
- T-shirt yarn (found one that measures 650 g on the label, but real weight might differ).
- Crochet hooks:
- 5.5 mm crochet hook
- 1.25 mm crochet hook (for the bottom part)
- A crochet yarn needle for finishing stitches.
- Glue suitable for footwear (ensure it's appropriate for the materials you're using).
- Black yarn (size 2).
- Microporus rubber (4 mm + anti-slippery, total 8 mm thickness).
Pattern:
Base:
- Start with a slip knot, insert the crochet hook and chain 21.
- Turn the work and do 12 single crochets (SC) starting from the second chain.
- Perform a half-double crochet (HDC), followed by six double crochets (DC).
- In the last stitch, make one HDC, two SC in the same stitch, another HDC, and one DC.
- Perform six DC for the next six loops.
- Next, do one HDC, 12 SC, and in the last stitch, make three SC in the same stitch.
- Continue with 12 SC focusing on both sides of the shape.
- Do a mix of HDC, DC, and SC as instructed previously on one side.
- Repeat similar steps for the other side, ensure the pattern matches exactly and perform adjustments for differences in steps as noted in the instructions.
Top Part:
- Start with a slip knot and chain 18.
- Perform HDC across the chain but ensure pulling the yarn over in all but the last two loops each time.
- Chain two, turn the work, then do HDCs across only the back loops.
- Reduce the width by skipping the first stitch on future rows, doing HDC in each until the last two rows, where HDCs are done without skipping.
- Cut a long tail for stitching; iron the pieces if necessary.
Assembly:
- Trace and cut the microporus rubber according to the sole shape.
- Glue the cut microporus rubber pieces to the crocheted sole.
- With the 1.25 mm hook, make holes around the edge of the sole for stitching.
- Use black yarn to stitch around the perimeter, securing the top piece to the sole.
- Apply additional glue as needed to attach the pieces securely.
- Finish by stitching all ends in and reinforcing any weak spots.
