Measurement and Setup
- Measure from your collarbone to the side of your ribcage to determine the side length of the square
- Create a slip knot and chain in multiples of four until the chain matches your measuremen
Row 1 Establishing the Pattern
- Place 3 double crochets into the third chain from the hook
- Chain 2 and work 1 single crochet into the next chain
- Skip 2 chains and place 3 double crochets into the next chain
- Chain 2 and place 1 single crochet into the next chain
- Repeat across the row until one chain remains
- Chain 2 and place 1 single crochet into the final chain space
Row 2 and All Following Rows
- Chain 2 and turn your work
- Work only into the chain 2 spaces from the previous row
- In each chain 2 space work 3 double crochets, chain 2, and 1 single crochet all in the same space
- Repeat across the row and continue this same pattern for every row
Creating the Square Panel

- Measure diagonally from corner to corner to confirm both diagonals are equal
