Materials Needed:
- Tape measure
- Scissors
- Crochet hook (Pin H / 4.5mm)
- Yarn (Red Heart Super Saver or similar medium weight)
- Beading cord (Optional)
- Beads (Optional)
- Needle (Optional)
Making the Panels:
- Chain 85 (approx. 19-21 inches) for the back panel.
- Double crochet in the 4th chain from the hook.
- Chain 5, skip 7 chains, and double crochet in the 8th chain.

- Chain 1, double crochet in the same stitch.
- Repeat chain 5, skip 7, and double crochet pattern across the row.
- At the end of the row, chain 3 and turn.
- Double crochet in the first space, chain 5, and repeat the double crochet, chain 1, double crochet pattern in each chain-1 space from the previous row.
- Repeat this row 14 more times (for a total of 15 rows).
- Each panel should measure approx. 10 inches wide and 19 inches long.
- Make two identical panels.

Creating the Sleeves:
- Attach yarn to the bottom corner of one panel and chain 6.
- Join with a slip stitch to the other bottom corner to form a loop.
- Chain 3 (counts as first double crochet), and double crochet in the base of the chain.
- Chain 5, skip the next space, and double crochet, chain 1, double crochet in the following space.
- Continue this pattern around the loop, varying the number of skipped rows to shape the sleeve.
- Join with a slip stitch and chain 3 to start the next round.
- Repeat the double crochet, chain 1, double crochet, chain 5 pattern for 28 rows or until sleeve measures 22 inches.
- Repeat for the other sleeve.

Joining the Shoulders:
- Fold each panel in half to find the shoulder point.
- Using a smaller hook or yarn needle, single crochet or stitch the shoulder seams together, leaving an opening for the neck.
- Repeat for the other shoulder.

Adding Beads (Optional):
- Thread beads onto the beading cord.
- Attach the cord to the spaces along the top edge of the shrug.
- String a desired number of beads (e.g., 6 beads), then pass the needle back through all but the last bead to secure them.
- Weave the cord through the fabric to secure and trim the excess, burning the end to prevent fraying.

Additional Notes:
- Approximately 1.5 balls (around 290g) of yarn were used for the shrug.
