Materials Needed
- 5mm crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Measuring tape
- Approximately 12 balls of We Are Knitters cotton yarn (adjust based on dress length)
- Elastic or string for waistband
Gauge Swatch
- Make a 5-inch gauge swatch in half double crochet with 20 stitches.

Waistband
- Chain a number divisible by 6.
- Slip stitch into the first stitch to complete the loop.
- Half double crochet in every stitch around for three rows.
- For the next two rows, half double crochet into the back loop.

Elastic/String for Waistband
- Use either elastic or a string for the waistband.
- For string, tie a bow at the front.
- For elastic, tie it together on the inside using stitch markers to hold it in place.
Skirt
- Start with the first color of the striping pattern and single crochet around the waistband.
- Alternate between single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet rows.
- Place six stitch markers evenly around for increases.
- After 50 rows, reduce increases by removing half of the stitch markers.

Top
- Split the work into three equal parts, marking the back seam and front center.
