Santa's Beard (White Yarn)

  • Start with a magic ring (MR).
  • Round 1: Chain 3 (ch) and make 12 double crochets (dc) into the magic ring, then slip stitch (slst) to join.
  • Round 2: Change to light blue or similar color yarn.
  • Chain 2 (ch) and make 12 double crochet increases (dc inc), then slip stitch (slst).

  • Create 6 puff stitches by repeating the pattern: (ch 3, skip 1 stitch, slst) six times.

  • Round 5: Slip stitch (slst) into the back loops of the previous round's stitches, then repeat the pattern: (ch 3, slst) five times.
  • Round 6: In each of the back loops from Round 5, repeat the pattern: (sc, 3dc, sc) five times.

  • Start with a magic ring (MR) using red yarn.

  • Round 2: Make 6 single crochets (sc) into the ring, then slip stitch (slst).
  • Cut the yarn and set the hat piece aside.
