Materials Needed:
- 150g of yarn (3 balls of 50g) in size 3 mm.
- Crochet hook size 4 mm.
- Scissors.
Step-by-Step Pattern:

Waistband:
- Start by making a slip knot on your crochet hook.
- Chain 7 (chain 6 plus 1 for turning).
- Starting in the second chain from the hook, single crochet in each chain across for a total of 6 single crochets.
- Chain 1 and turn your work.
- Single crochet into the back loop only of each stitch across to create a ribbed effect for the waistband.
- Alternate between back loop only and both loops for each row to continue the ribbed design until the waistband is long enough to fit comfortably around your waist.

- Join the ends of the waistband with slip stitches to form a circle.
Body of the Shorts:
- Flip the waistband inside out.
- Chain 1, and then single crochet around the waistband, including the slip stitch round. This creates a seamless look.
- Work in rounds, increasing at each side for the hips. Use the pattern of doing three single crochets into one stitch for increases, as needed, to ensure a good fit around your hips.
- After establishing the hip increases, alternate between rounds with ridges (by crocheting into the back loop only) and normal rounds (crocheting into both loops), based on the desired spacing of frills later on.

Leg Separation:
- When the crochet reaches the crotch area, chain 12 (or between 10 to 20, based on the size you want) to create the space between the legs.
- Single crochet from one side of the chain to the other side of the shorts, creating one leg hole.
- Cut the yarn and repeat the process for the other leg.

Frills:
- For each leg, once you've completed the length of it, start adding frills.
- Chain 1 and turn your work, then two double crochets in each stitch around for one row. This creates the frill texture.
- The next row, one double crochet in each stitch around.

- Continue with the frill pattern as desired, evenly spacing out additional frills by double crocheting into every stitch or every other stitch based on how full you want the frills.
Finishing:
- When you're satisfied with the length and number of frills, finish off by cutting the yarn and pulling it through the last loop. Weave in any loose ends.
