Available Sizes

0–3 months: 62 chains, 9 rounds
3–6 months: 64 chains, 11 rounds
6–12 months: 70 chains, 13 rounds
1–2 years: 74 chains, 15 rounds

Ribbed Brim

Start with a slip knot and leave a long tail.
Chain required number based on size (see above).
Skip the first 3 chains; double crochet (DC) in each chain across.
Join the first and last stitch with a slip stitch to form a round.
Chain 3 (counts as first DC).

Work alternating front post DC (FPDC) and back post DC (BPDC) around.
Repeat FPDC/BPDC pattern for one more round.
Change yarn color if desired.
Work another round of alternating FPDC and BPDC.

Hat Body

Round 1:

Repeat around.
Slip stitch to join.

Round 2:

Chain 3.
Puff stitch in same space.
