Materials Needed:

  • Two colors of yarn (one for the flask and one for the liquid inside)
  • Stuffing material
  • 4mm crochet hook (or whichever size you prefer)
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle
  • Stitch marker
  • Safety eyes
  • Black acrylic yarn for details

Pattern:

Start with the Flask Bottom:

  • Create 6 single crochets (sc) in a magic ring.

Round 2:

  • Increase in each stitch around (2 sc in each stitch), leading to a total of 12 sc.

Round 3:

  • Single crochet in the first stitch, increase (2 sc in the next stitch). Repeat - 6 times. This will give you 18 sc.

After Round 4:

  • Do 2 single crochets, then an increase. Repeat around to get a total of 24 sc.

Round 5:

  • Do 3 single crochets, followed by an increase. Repeat around to bring the count to 30 sc.

Rounds 6-8:

  • Single crochet around without increasing, maintaining 30 stitches for each round.

Shape the Dome (Round 9):

  • Do 3 single crochets, followed by an invisible decrease. Repeat around. End round with 24 stitches.

Change Color (Preparing for the Liquid):

  • At the end of Round 9, change to the second yarn color (for the liquid), making sure to secure the yarn ends.

Round 10 with New Color:

  • Single crochet in the next two stitches, then invisible decrease. Repeat around.

Add Features Before Finishing the Flask:

  • Cut off the first yarn color and weave in ends.
  • Place safety eyes between rounds 6 and 7, about 7 stitches apart.

Filling the Flask:

  • Add stuffing to the flask to achieve the desired shape.

Continue Shaping the Top (Round 11):

  • Single crochet, then decrease. Repeat 6 times to reduce stitch count to 12.

Rounds 12-17 for the Neck of the Flask:

  • Single crochet in each stitch around, maintaining 12 stitches for these rounds.

Finish the Neck (Round 18):

  • Complete 6 decreases in the back loops only to close off the top neatly, and then fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing the last hole closed.

Final Details with Black Yarn:

  • Add a mouth between the safety eyes using the black yarn, forming a slight smile.
  • Add measurement marks along the body of the flask for detail.
