Crochet Carnation Flower Amigurumi

Material:

  • PL Cting Yarn (likely a typo - check the actual yarn type)
  • 3mm crochet hook
  • 3mm thick metal stick
  • 0.5 mm metal wire
  • Glue
  • Cotton filling

Instructions:

Taurus (Center of the Flower):

  • Start with a magic ring.
  • Make 5 single crochet (sc) inside the magic ring.
  • Pull the tail to close the loop.
  • Join with a slip stitch (sl st) to the first sc.
  • Chain 1 (ch 1) to start round 2.

Round 2:

  • Make 2 sc in each stitch around (10 stitches total).
  • Join with a sl st to the first sc of the round.
  • Ch 1 to start round 3.

Round 3:

  1. Make 1 sc in the next stitch, then 2 sc in the following stitch.
  2. Repeat the sequence between a total of 5 times (15 stitches total).
  3. Ch 1 to start round 4.

In Rounds 4 - 10:

  • Make 1 sc in each stitch around (15 stitches for each round).
  • This will create the base of the taurus.

Round 11:

  • Ch 3.
  • Working in the front loop only, make 2 double crochets (dc) in the next stitch.
  • Ch 3, then perform a picot stitch.
  • Repeat this sequence around for 5 times.
  • Join with a sl st to the first stitch of the round.
  • Cut the yarn.

Flower Petals:

  • Switch to white yarn.
  • Attach the white yarn to the back loop of any stitch from round 11.
  • Ch 3, then make 3 dc in the same stitch.
  • Repeat in each stitch around (15 sets of 3 dc).
  • Join with a sl st to the first dc of the round.
  • Ch 3 to start round 13.

Round 13:

  • Make 3 dc in each stitch around (45 sets of 3 dc).
  • Join with a sl st to the first dc of the round.
  • Cut the white yarn.

Final Touches:

  • Switch to pink yarn.
  • Ch 3, and in the next stitch make 1 sc, then ch 3.
  • Repeat this pattern for the whole round.
  • End with a ch to secure and then cut the yarn.

Leaves:

  • Start with a ch of 15.
  • Insert your hook from the third ch from the hook.
  • Make a half double crochet (hdc) while placing the wire on top of the hook.
  • Wrap the yarn over the wire and make 8 hdc total.
  • Make 1 sc in the following four chains, and in the last chain make 2 sc.
  • Turn to the other side and repeat the same pattern of sc and hdc.
  • Join with a sl st and cut the yarn.
