 Materials

  • Yarn in two colors (main body and accent for ears/muzzle)
  • 2.5 mm crochet hook for details
  • 4.5 mm or 4 mm crochet hook for head/body
  • Fiberfill stuffing
  • Black thread for face embroidery
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Body (Torso)

Crochet Plush Sheep 1

Create a magic ring, ch 2, then:

  • Row 1: 6 sc into the ring. (6)
  • Row 2: 6 inc. (12)
  • Row 3: 1 sc, 1 inc x6. (18)
  • Row 4: 2 sc, 1 inc x6. (24)
  • Row 5: 3 sc, 1 inc x6. (30)
  • Row 6: 4 sc, 1 inc x6. (36)
  • Rows 7–14: 36 sc. (8 rows)
  • Row 15: 4 sc, 1 dec x6. (30)
  • Row 16: 3 sc, 1 dec x6. (24)→ Begin stuffing.
  • Row 17: 2 sc, 1 dec x6. (18)
  • Row 18: 1 sc, 1 dec x6. (12)→ Add more stuffing.
  • Row 19: 6 dec. (6)→ Finish off and close the hole.

Ears (Make 2)

  • Use YarnArt Jeans and 2.5 mm hook:
  • Row 1: MR, 6 sc. (6)
  • Row 2: 6 inc. (12)
  • Rows 3–6: 12 sc.

Crochet Plush Sheep 2

Fold in half and sc across both layers (6 sc).

  • Finish off, leaving a tail or sew with body color.

Muzzle and Head

  • Begin with muzzle color and 2.5 mm hook:
  • Row 1: MR, 6 sc. (6)
  • Row 2: 6 inc. (12)
  • Row 3: 1 sc, 1 inc x6. (18)
  • Row 4: 2 sc, 1 inc x6. (24)
  • Rows 5–11: 24 sc.
  • Row 12: Switch to main body color, 24 sc.
  • Row 13: Change to 4.5 mm or 4 mm hook, 24 sc.
  • Row 14: 2 sc, 1 dec x6. (18)

Row 15: 1 sc, 1 dec x6. (12)

Crochet Plush Sheep 3

Stuff head well, especially the muzzle.

  • Row 16: 6 dec. (6)

Finish off, close hole, and leave long tail.

  • Attach ears to the head.
  • Attach head to the body.
  • Embroider eyes and nose with black thread.

Legs (Make 4)

  • Row 1: MR, 5 sc. (5)
  • Row 2: 5 inc. (10)
  • Rows 3–8: 10 sc.
  • Finish off, lightly stuff, and attach to body.

Tail

  • With main body color yarn:
  • Ch 9, cut yarn and pull through.
  • Leave both yarn tails long.
  • Attach to back of body and secure inside by knotting the tails.
